Dear Ms. Krider;
Thank you for contacting me to share your interest in protecting the environment. I appreciate your making me aware of your concerns, and I welcome the opportunity to respond.
Like you, I believe that preserving and promoting a healthy environment is important to the future of our country and the Commonwealth of Kentucky. To accomplish these goals, a high degree of cooperation between citizens, businesses, and government must occur, and the proper balance of economic viability, environmental sustainability, and public involvement must be achieved. Citizens have a vested interest in the quality of the air they breathe, the water they drink, and the natural habitat that surrounds them. As your Senator, I work to protect those interests and see to it they are properly maintained for future generations to enjoy.
As your United States Senator, I take very seriously the responsibility to listen closely to, and learn from, my constituents. A hallmark of representative democracy is the two-way communication between elected officials and the voters. After all, the office I occupy is a public trust, and I want to earn your trust each and every day.
Again, thank you again for contacting me about this important matter. I hope you will continue to keep me informed of the issues that are important to you.
