Abolish the Drug Czar’s Office!

NORML
04/14/2017

The Trump Administration is widely expected to pick Representative Tom Marino for Drug Czar.

Representative Marino is a longtime, rabid drug warrior who has a consistent record of voting against marijuana law reform legislation — a position that runs counter to that of the majority of voters and his own constituents. His appointment to this office highlights the fact that this administration remains committed to the failed 1980s ‘war on drug’ playbook.

The Trump administration promised to eliminate bureaucratic waste. It should start by eliminating the office of the Drug Czar.

The White House Drug Czar is required, by statute, “to oppose any attempt to legalize the use of a substance that is listed in Schedule I” and to “ensure that no Federal funds … shall be expended for any study or contract relating to the legalization (for a medical use or any other use) of a substance listed in Schedule I.” This narrow-minded, Flat Earth mentality refuses to acknowledge the reality that the majority of the country is now authorized to engage in the use of medical cannabis and it mandates that US drug policy be dictated by rhetoric and ideology rather than by science and evidence.

NORML opposes Marino’s appointment to Drug Czar and we further call for this anti-science position to be abolished entirely.

Click here to send a message to President Trump – End the charade of the Drug Czar by abolishing the position.

The Drug Czar’s office is a remnant of a bygone era when US drug policy was framed as a ‘war’ fueled largely by rhetoric and ideology. In 2017 we can do better and we must. The majority of Americans view drug abuse as a public health issue, they favor regulating cannabis as opposed to criminalizing it, and they are demanding policy changes based on science and evidence.

Tell President Trump: There is no place for ‘Czars’ in today’s American government, particularly those like Marino who still cling to the outdated and failed drug war policies and misplaced ideologies of the past.

Thanks in advance for standing together with the thousands of NORML members throughout the country.

Bruce Cain·Sunday, March 5, 2017

Oh what a nice day to follow Alice down the rabbit hole to Wonderland.

The scope of this essay is so broad that I do fear I will be completely lost by the time I type the final period and post the essay. But whether I succeed or fail I am just hoping that it will allow my readers to better think about where we are as a human society and help the reader make more informed about which path we will choose. And, as with all my writings, I am trying to present my arguments as an old Perennial Hippie.

So first here are all 200 of my FB essays.

The complete FB Essay of Bruce Cain https://www.facebook.com/bruce.cain.98/notes?lst=100000184321094%3A100000184321094%3A1488734044

Finally let me make this general statement about all of my essays. If I had to explain everything, in many of m essays, then each essay would probably be a 300 page book. To get around this problem I provide links that help the reader better understand the nuinces of a given sentence or paragraph. To put in Beatle-eque terms:

‘The love you take is equal to the love you make.’ [What you get out of my essays is equal to the effort you put in to understanding my essays.] https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_End_(Beatles_song)

With all that in mind lets get started . . .

First we need to define what is meant by Collectivism and Individualism.

Collectivism: Collectivism is the moral stance, political philosophy, ideology, or social outlook that emphasizes the group and its interests. Collectivism is the opposite of individualism. Collectivists focus on communal, societal, or national interests in various types of political, economic and educational systems. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Collectivism

Individualism is the moral stance, political philosophy, ideology, or social outlook that emphasizes the moral worth of the individual.[1][2] Individualists promote the exercise of one’s goals and desires and so value independence and self-reliance[3] and advocate that interests of the individual should achieve precedence over the state or a social group,[3] while opposing external interference upon one’s own interests by society or institutions such as the government.[3] Individualism is often defined in contrast to totalitarianism, collectivism, authoritarianism, and more corporate social forms. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Individualism

As I hope to make clear:

Obama is a collectivist Trump is a individualist

How the life-force favors collectivism

Collectivism goes back to the beginnings of sexual reproduction as I try to explain in this comment I made on an article on sexual fantasy:

===== Ah sexual fantasies. While this is quite interesting I don’t think it gets to the “bottom” of this. LOL.

At the bottom lies what I would call the “life-force” whose primary purpose is to improve upon the virus (e.g., our DNA) so that life is better able to promulgate itself through the dimension of time. Sexual reproduction goes back about 1.5 billion years as life evolved and provided a more efficient model for diversifying the human genome. And as this occurred subconscious neurochemical scripts also evolved to nudge us toward mating with partners that would improve upon the our DNA’s ability to survive through the continuum of time. For more on this read the WIKI article on Evolutionary Psychology.

Here are but a few examples of such programming:

* Many animals will submissively raise their hips for fertilization by a perceived alpha male. For more on that see the WIKI article on Lordosis.

* Women, in their most fertile time of the month, are much more likely to cheat on their bonded partners and mate with a perceived alpha male.

* Then their is “sperm competition.” Again read the WIKI article or the article on evolutionary psychology.

So while your upbringing definitely effects your preference for various sexual fantasies I’m simply suggesting that might get to the lips, tits and hips of the matter . . . it doesn’t quite get down to the bottom. At the bottom is what you might call genetic collectivism: the fact that we are influenced by unconscious neurochemical scripts that favor the interests of the species above the interests of the individual.

The interests of the species is pushed forward by these neurochemical scripts that act primarily on the lower Reptilian brain. The interests of the individual are pushed forward by making better use of the higher brain, such as the cerebrum.

Sexual Fantasies: What They Say About You http://personallifemedia.com/2013/10/sexual-fantasies-what-they-say-about-you/?a_aid=4d10d6658ceff&a_bid=2dca6ad0 =====

To be clear I think that our evolution toward a more utopian society will depend on our conscious utilization of the higher brain. Our demise will become increasingly certain if we continue to allow our lives to be governed by our lower reptilian brain. Got that?

Global Government and Obama represent a collectivist ideology

Obama and his 8 year tenure represent a collectivist agenda. Obama was a student of Alinsky and everything he did as president reflects this agenda to topple our republic and create a collectivist/socialist state.

Saul Alinsky’s Doctrine: 8 steps to topple a nation and create a socialist state by IWB · October 16, 2015

1) Healthcare — Control healthcare and you control the people 2) Poverty — Increase the Poverty level as high as possible, poor people are easier to control and will not fight back if you are providing everything for them to live. 3) Debt — Increase the debt to an unsustainable level. That way you are able to increase taxes, and this will produce more poverty. 4) Gun Control — Remove the ability to defend themselves from the Government. That way you are able to create a police state. 5) Welfare — Take control of every aspect of their lives (Food, Housing, and Income). 6) Education — Take control of what people read and listen to — take control of what children learn in school. 7) Religion — Remove the belief in the God from the Government and schools. 8) Class Warfare — Divide the people into the wealthy and the poor. This will cause more discontent and it will be easier to take (Tax) the wealthy with the support of the poor.

=====

It should be obvious to anyone with a brain that these 8 steps were all exploited by Obama during his 8 years as president and his current activities to destroy Trumps individualist agenda (reducing regulations, rejecting a New World Order etc.).

I would also recommend you read this WIKI on Rules for Radicals by Alinsky:

Rules for Radicals From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rules_for_Radicals

Nationalism and Trump represent a Individualist ideology

By no means to I think Trump is a saint. I am already troubled by his appointment of globalist bankers (Goldman Sachs to his cabinet). But it was a binary choice between Hillary and Trump. And their were two main issues that compelled me to vote for Trump:

(1) He promised to reduce immigration whereas Hillary wanted to further open our borders to Muslim Terrorists and even more Illegal Aliens.

(2) He promised to reject the Trans Pacific Partnership (TPP) which would have led to the end of US sovereignty. Hillary saw the TPP as the “gold standard.”

The Globalist Collectivists get set back by Brexit and Trumps victory

Brexit was a blow against the globalist empire by English citizens that were growing weary of having Muslim immigrants forced down their throats as well as diminishing control over their own government. Trump won for very similar reasons. And both won by such small margins that it makes me wonder if there is really something like divine providence lurking deep within the life-force.

===== Divine providence From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

In theology, divine providence, or just providence, is God’s intervention in the world. The term “Divine Providence” (usually capitalized) is also used as a title of God. A distinction is usually made between “general providence”, which refers to God’s continuous upholding the existence and natural order of the universe, and “special providence”, which refers to God’s extraordinary intervention in the life of people.[1] Miracles generally fall in the latter category.[2] https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Divin… =====

To be clear I don’t really believe in divine providence. I certainly do believe it possible that the people of the United States and the European Union did “finally” decide that didn’t like getting it up the ass by these globalist scum every god damn fucking day.

In this context I would also encourage you to read this essay I wrote in 2015. In essence the globalists are using Islam as a tool to destroy our republic in order to force us into a One World Global Fascist State:

The Muslim Invasion of the US/Europe and the End of the World https://www.facebook.com/notes/bruce-cain/the-muslim-invasion-of-the-useurope-and-the-end-of-the-world/1217516511607668

The Post Election Conspiracy to Impeach Trump

I really did not think that Trump was going to win last November although it gave me great relief that perhaps the American People had finally become awakened to their plight under a globalist/collectivist agenda. And if you read my essays, after the election, it is clear that the attempts to impeach Trump began promptly, the day after the election.

OK, I’m getting tired of writing for today. I hope the way I have framed the issue helps the reader better understand what is going on and what is at stake. We are in the midst of a global existential crisis and what occurs in the coming weeks and months will determine which road we take forward: collectivism or individualism. To put it more bluntly, what we do going forward will determine if we are to become slaves on a globalist plantation or freemen/free-woman who retain or liberties in a sovereign republic.

So consider this (above) the official end of my essay. In the addendum I’m just going to list a few important articles and videos that relate to the subject. I will leave it up to you, the reader, to see how this fits into this Collectivist/Individualist paradigm.

This may be the ultimate indictment of the "moneyed" drug reform movement in this country and I urge you to distribute this article as widely as possible

(The following article is posted from a website that I happened to come across today while looking for information on the “MERRP Model” for RE-Legalization.  I decided to repost it because I think the opinion that is offered needs to be heard and RE-Legalization vs. Legal-Lies or “Legalize” has to be made known.  SK)

Image may contain: 1 person, text

(1) Introduction
This may be the ultimate indictment of the “moneyed” drug reform movement in this country and I urge you to distribute this article as widely as possible.
This is the 8th in a series of essays on the MERP Model for Re-Legalizing Marijuana throughout the planet.  In this essay I am exposing the “smoking gun” evidence that will show that the “Marijuana Policy Project” (MPP) is secretively plotting to put an end to the personal cultivation of Marijuana which has been a perennial goal of all Marijuana activists since the mid-1960’s.  This betrayal, of both Cannabis activists and the MERP Model, requires that MPP is cut off from any further activist funding.  You will find links to all past and future essays, concerning “MERP” at the following link:
(2) Some Brief Background on the Re-Legalization Movement from the 1960’s through 2008
1967 was the year that the first major petition, demanding Marijuana Re-Legalization, was placed in the London Times by Paul McCartney.  Here is a brief description of the petition from Barry Miles “Beatles Diary:”
The “Pot” Ad
The Times ran a full page advertisement on July 24th, 1967, headed, “The law against marijuana is immoral in principle and unworkable in practice” which was signed by, among other, all four Beatles and Brian Epstein. The petition’s arguments included the following: that the smoking of cannabis on private premises should no longer constitute an offence; cannabis should be taken off the dangerous drugs list and controlled, rather than prohibited; possession of cannabis should either be legally permitted or at most be considered a misdemeanor and that all person now imprisoned for possession of cannabis or for allowing cannabis to be smoke on private premises should have their sentences commuted.
It was signed by 65 eminent names including Francis Crick, the co-discoverer of the DNA molecule and a Nobel laureate, novelist Graham Greene, and MPs Brian Walden and Rom Drilberg, as well as future MP Jonathan Aitkin, but the four MBEs caused the most press concern. Questions were asked in the House, and a chain of events set off, which did actually result in the liberalization of the laws against pot in Britain. the advertisement was paid for by the Beatles at Paul McCartney’s instigation.
The Beatles Diary: The Beatles years By Barry Miles
Four years later (1971) another Beatle, John Lennon, came to the assistance of Michigan activist John Sinclair, who had been put in prison for 10 years for getting arrested with a mere 2 Marijuana cigarettes.  Recently John Sinclair became the most important luminary to join the roster of activists supporting the MERP Model for Marijuana Re-Legalization.  And the list of supporters is growing by the day.
So for nearly 42 years we have now been fighting to end the prohibition of Marijuana throughout this planet.  Am I the only one that is angered that we have not yet achieved this goal?   Think about it.  It only took 13 years to realize that Alcohol Prohibition was a mistake, despite it being a far more dangerous drug than Marijuana.  Yet it has now been 71 years, that we have endured Marijuana Prohibition, and despite 52% support nationwide (see Zogby Poll), our representatives continue to ignore us.
Despite numerous feeble attempts it was not until 1996 — 29 years later — that the first Medical Marijuana Initiative, Proposition 215, was passed in California.  George Soros was a major contributor to Prop 215 but, according to activist Ron Kiczenski, he was not able to have much input into the structure of this initiative which had no limits to the number of plants that a patient could grow. Proposition 215 also held the counties responsible for granting citizens access to “Medical Marijuana.”
For the uninitiated here is what you should know about George Soros:
(1) He is the primary funding source for the Drug Policy Alliance (DPA) headed by Ethan Nadleman and the Marijuana Policy Project (MPP) headed by Rob Kampia.
(2) He has been the primary source of funding for the remaining 12 Medical Marijuana initiatives that have passed through 2008.
(3) He is a ruthless Globalist who supports gun control, open borders and is also a primary funding source to dozens of drug reform organizations throughout the planet.
(4) It is becoming clearer, by the day, that Soros is positioning himself to profit from a highly “taxed and regulated” Marijuana industry that will not destroy the drug cartels or stop the arrest of American Cannabis consumers.
So it is not a big surprise that Soros funded California Senate Bill 420 (SB 420), after Prop 215 passed.  This was Soros’s attempt to limit the number of plants that a patient could grow.  Fortunately the Californian Appeals Court found SB420 unconstitutional because it did attempt to set limits.
Undeterred Soros became the primary funding source for the remaining 12 Medical Marijuana Initiatives which culminated in the passage of the Michigan Initiative in November 2008.  But the clever little Soros made sure that most of the remaining 12 initiatives  were restricted to a 12 Plant limit for the Medical Patient or the Caregiver.
This concludes my brief summary of Soros activities through 2008.  It should also be clear that Soros has shown absolutely no inclination to support initiatives that allow personal cultivation for healthy Cannabis consumers.  In fact Ethan Nadleman would not allow me access to Soros when I attempted to garner more funding for the Michigan Personal Marijuana Initiative (PRA) in July 2001.  We had collected over 270,000 signatures and needed additional funding to bring in professional canvassers to get the remaining 180,000 signatures.  But Nadleman and Soros “just said no” and the initiative never made the ballot.
(3) How Obama, Soros, Rob Kampia and MPP Intend To Betray the Marijuana Re-Legalization Movement in 2009
In a recent email from MPP they talk about the pending AZ Medical Marijuana Initiative:
“What’s unique about the Arizona law is that it would permit qualifying patients or their caregivers to legally purchase marijuana from licensed dispensaries — so they wouldn’t need to obtain it from the criminal market”.
Once you understand what Kampia (MPP) is really hiding you will have every right to get pissed off. You see, under this initiative (should it pass), you will NOT be able to cultivate the common 12 Plant maximum unless you live more than 25 miles from a licensed dispensary.
Here is what Rob Kampia and Soros did not want the Cannabis Activist Community to understand:
“Qualifying patients who live more than 25 miles from the nearest dispensary will be allowed to cultivate up to 12 marijuana plants for personal use.”
In other words, once there are enough dispensaries individual consumers will no longer be able to cultivate their own Marijuana!
So the only thing “unique” about Rob Kampia’s (President of MPP) AZ initiative is that it will basically prohibit personal cultivation as soon as Soros can set up his network of “Medical Marijuana Dispensaries.”. On that count alone I urge everyone in AZ to reject this flawed initiative and stop supporting MPP or DPA.
I have not assembled all of the puzzle pieces here but certainly enough to make the case that Soros, Kampia and Nadleman are not honest brokers of the drug policy reform that most Americans would like to see.  untaxed, unregulated cultivation by all American Citizens over the age of 18.
It is also becoming clear that the media is slowly attempting to “manufacture consent” for a highly regulated “tax and regulate” model for Marijuana Re-Legalization that will force American Citizens to pay exorbitant prices for Marijuana (e.g., $300 to $500 and ounce) in order to feed the tax coffers of local, state and federal government.  Why would we want to allow this when the MERP Model would allow you to grow for free outside or for about $30 and ounce if grown indoors under lamps.
A fellow activist also made the astute observation that Obama is most probably also in on this betrayal.  Just consider the following excerpt from a recent Christian Science Monitor article on this subject:
“Several recent polls show stepped-up public support for legalization. This means not only lifting restrictions on use (“decriminalization”), but also on supply – production and sales. The Obama administration, meanwhile, says the US Drug Enforcement Agency will no longer raid dispensaries of medical marijuana – which is illegal under federal law – in states where it is legal.”
Legalize marijuana? Not so fast.
This is how she put it after we discussed the flawed AZ initiative in some detail:
“This is why MPP wants to put the power and control of med pot distribution and sales into dispensaries. and take it out of the hands of the patients. Do the dispensaries now become the care giver/grower as well?  How many plants are they allowed to grow?  Dispensaries will be popping up like convenience stores if that is the case.  I see a whole new set of laws coming under corporate oversight and it’s screaming MONSANTO/DUPONT GENETIC PATENT ON SEED AND PLANT DISPENSARY CONTROL. What a set up…Obama said he won’t raid “DISPENSARIES” in states where medical marijuana is legal…that is why they are taking the power away from home growers/patients…These dispensaries will fall under federal laws….and more than likely federal control and regulation.  Sneaky, sneaky.”
This is exactly what I have been warning people about for years regarding the major drug reform groups supported by George Soros. Marijuana Policy Project (MPP) and Drug Policy Alliance (DPA) are two of the greatest beneficiaries of Soros funds. But Soros funds dozens of groups throughout the United States and dozens more outside of the United States .

As an activist in drug reform for over 20 years my goal has always been to change the laws so that ALL American adults, not just the sick, would be able to consume and cultivate their own Marijuana.  And under the MERP Model we will be able to do this just like we are currently able to produce our own homemade beer and wine: without any taxation, regulation or government interference. To that end I have come up with the MERP Model and have produced a series of essays and videos to explain how it would be implemented:
It is bad enough that Soros is moving to “cash in” on Medical Marijuana by prohibiting personal cultivation. What is worse is that such initiatives will do nothing to destroy the Drug Cartels, Terrorist Organizations and Gangs that profit from the illicit sale of Marijuana. The only model that would assure this outcome is the MERP Model, because it would essentially take all but the normal profit out of the Marijuana market.
For most goods the “normal profit” is usually about twice the cost of producing the product. So in the case of Marijuana you can grow it for about 20 to 30 dollars per ounce using the latest hydroponic techniques and High Intensity Discharge lamps. So you would expect the “normal profit” to be somewhere between $40 to $60 dollars an ounce. But the MPP Arizona initiative would do nothing to eliminate the “black marketing” of Marijuana where an ounce will still sell from between $300 and $600 an ounce. In such a setting the Medical Dispensaries, Terrorists, Mexican Drug Cartels etc. will continue to thrive at our expense.
(4) Summary
By looking retrospectively at the the activities of Soros it is clear that he is against any form of personal cultivation and more than likely expects to profit handsomely from a highly “taxed and regulated” system of drug reform.  It is also clear that Obama and the Corporate Media are also on board to manufacture consent for such a stupid and short sighted model.
But from the Hippies of the 60’s, to the Activists of the New Millennium, we have always wanted full rights to cultivate Mother Nature’s plant without the encumbrances of taxes, regulations or other excuses for the government to invade our homes and properties.  As far as I’m concerned Soros, Kampia and Nadleman can go “nadle” one another.  We have uncovered their deception and we will no longer support their flawed plans to control both us and our plant.
I think it is time we stop supporting these Soros-supported organizations and unite to achieve the only solution that will destroy the Cartels and serve the common good: the MERP Model. It already enjoys the support of thousands of activists including some of the most important luminaries of the movement: John Sinclair, Ron Kiczenski and Bruce W. Cain (Editor of New Age Citizen).

THE MERRP MODEL FOR RE-LEGALIATION

Remembering that the Founding Fathers did not want political parties,

Monday, October 24, 2016

political_parties_quote

http://www.notable-quotes.com/p/political_parties_quote.jpg

Remembering that the Founding Fathers did not want political parties, I think all political parties should be abolished as they are unethical and unconstitutional. What is a political party?  It is a group of people being told how they should believe and how to live, and what to do and say.  We believe that this country was founded on the principle of “by the people” and “for the people”, not “by the party” and “for the party”.  All Candidates should run on their name, and their own merit, not a group badge.

…the United States Constitution has always been silent on the issue of political parties; at the time it was signed in 1787, there were no parties in the nation. Indeed, no nation in the world had voter-based political parties. The need to win popular support in a republic led to the American invention of voter-based political parties in the 1790s.[1] Americans were especially innovative in devising new campaign techniques that linked public opinion with public policy through the party.[2]

So, let’s see if people are looking for a third-party Candidate.  If the U.S. is ready for a Third-Party the time to stop voting Democrat and Republican is now.  The Libertarians and the Green Party are both high profile Candidates in this year’s election.  Of course, the Republican and Democrat remains as the standard agenda dictates.  And therein lies the problem.  The media has been the dictator of elections in as much as the Third-Party Candidates do not get the same publicity in any form, and media most definitely does not allow fairness in the “debates”.  All major parties should be included in the debates.  If equal publicity for all candidates were maintained it could change the outcome considerably.

Some people may fear change because they fear terrorism and war and believe it could be imminent in a Republican or Third-Party Presidency.  To answer that I would say that, who is responsible for ISIS terrorism? Sept 11th happened and the U.S blamed and then attacked the Taliban and Bin Laden and Afghanistan.  The U.S. goes to the U.N. to get a coalition.  Everything progressed well until the French started arguing that more diplomacy is needed, and that no attacks should happen.  In doing so they could dissuade more countries from helping the U.S.  All of Europe except Great Britain pulled out their forces and dropped their support.

So why do we support the French?  Their diplomacy is why I think ISIS is still around.  It is because of France that we are in debt because after WWII President Roosevelt decided that the debt the French had incurred from us helping them would be forgiven.

The bombings in Belgium and France are terrible and they never should have happened. If we had had the support, we needed they never would have happened.  The bottom line is that ISIS needs to be stopped and we need a full coalition of countries to accomplish that.  Meanwhile, France preaches diplomacy and we get nowhere because ISIS is not diplomatic!

We need to unite this world and fight for peace!

Usually by this time the USMjParty has already picked someone to support in the Presidential Election.

Notably, it has been Gary Johnson in at least the last two Presidential Elections.

This time is different.  This time it seems that there is absolutely no one running for office that I, myself, or my Colleagues, including Head Chair/Colorado Chair Bill Chengelis, aka Wayward Bill;   Pennsylvania Tom Johnson; Maryland Jeffrey Kabik; Vermont Cris Ericson; Hawaii Kenneth Peeler, Texas Chuck Miller aka Damagoman;  Oregon Jim Johnson; Utah Rob Hawthorne and Kentucky Sheree Krider (myself), that we have felt worthy of our support online or elsewhere.

A few people will most likely stand behind Gary Johnson, although, I, myself, have lost interest in him lately.  I wrote a short article a couple of months ago, “Lord, it’s time for another Election – What do we do now?”, in which I list just a few basic reasons why I DID NOT like each of the Candidates this year.  I was seriously hoping that my Colleagues would step up and speak out for someone…But that has not happened – at least so far, and it’s running pretty close to Election.  If that changes, there will be an update to this Newsletter sent out!

Speaking for myself, I would like to be able to go to the poll and enter a “Vote of No Confidence”, and force the system to start all over again.  Maybe we could do better if we tried again?  The only problem with that is the fact that since Obama’s term is up, I’m not sure how the Government would operate until another Election could be scheduled as this has never been done in the U.S. before.

A motion of no confidence (alternatively vote of no confidence, no-confidence motion, or (unsuccessful) confidence motion) is a statement or vote that a person or persons in a position of responsibility (government, managerial, etc.) is no longer deemed fit to hold that position: perhaps because they are inadequate in some respect, are failing to carry out obligations, or are making decisions that other members feel are detrimental.  LINK

In the United States, motions styled as “no confidence” are only symbolic and are rare.  In organizations that use Robert’s Rules of Order Newly Revised (RONR), there is no motion of no confidence, although the assembly could adopt a motion expressing a lack of confidence in its leaders (i.e. a motion to censure).[11]  The United States Congress passed a no confidence motion against Secretary of State Dean Acheson in the 1950s[12] and considered one against Attorney General Alberto Gonzales,[13] but these motions are of symbolic effect only.  LINK

It would seem to me that it is time to add another option to the voting ticket – “NO CONFIDENCE”.  In effect, the low voter turnout is serving as a “no confidence” vote, as they refuse to cast their vote for anyone running on the ticket.  However, since these votes are not counted, they serve no purpose except to make sure that someone that is not worthy will get into Office.  We need to change that so that if people actually have “no confidence” in the people running for any given office they can readily make that known through the voting process rather than abstaining from the vote altogether.  I really believe that in this Election the “no confidence” vote would be the winner.

In the U.S. the Electoral Vote wins the Election.  Not the Popular Vote!

According to Politics1 there are probably over 999 people running for the office of President in this years Election, though I did not bother to count them all!

There are virtually no qualifications required for anyone to run for the Office of the Presidency.  You would think that in this day of drug testing for employment and background checks for everything else as well, that when someone wanted to run for the highest office in the land that there would be a “background check” for felonies and a “drug test” – just because, well, everybody else has to have one so why shouldn’t the Government officials (and hopefuls) have to comply too?.  I bet that the list of people running for office would shrink dramatically if those two requirements alone were implemented.

Unfortunately, Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton, I am sure, would “pass the tests” the end result would be the same thing we have now – Two more billionaire idiots who do not care about anything but their own bank accounts running for the highest office in the land…and a bunch of dumbasses running out to vote for them!  I would be one of them!  Although I doubt I will actually know who I am voting for until Election Day itself.  You can never be sure what will happen between now and then.

Age and Citizenship requirements – US Constitution, Article II, Section 1

  • No person except a natural born citizen, or a citizen of the United States, at the time of the adoption of this Constitution, shall be eligible to the office of President; neither shall any person be eligible to that office who shall not have attained to the age of thirty-five years, and been fourteen years a resident within the United States. So,

From where I am watching, this Country is in very bad shape right now.  And the whole World, as well, is in a very uncompromising position.  The Atomic Clock is at “3 minutes to midnight”.  The news is getting worse everyday and that could be because it IS getting worse everyday, OR that the media as a whole is portraying it as such…Your guess is as good as mine! The Elections are now being overseen by the DHS and we are at constant threat of some kind of attack either by our own or by some other entity that may or may not even exist.  Food prices are rising steadily.   Children are being kidnapped right out from under us by CPS (Child Protective Services), a Government agency set up to take care of vulnerable children, not displace them.  Clean water is becoming more and more scarce.  There is absolutely no end to the trials and tribulations that may await us after the upcoming election.

The best thing I can think of to say about this event which will be remembered in history, is to think smart.  Very carefully review your options, and then vote with your conscience on Election Day 2016.  Our very lives may well depend upon what the Citizens of this great Country decide to do on Election Day!

VOTE for the FREEDOM of CANNABIS!  This includes all forms of HEMP!  REPEAL PROHIBITION first and foremost to gain a momentum to start cleaning up the mess that has been made by the Justice Department and the prison industrial complex.  That would be a good start.  Freedom to plant and consume Cannabis on our own property without fear of arrest or seizure.  This order should come from the United Nations and followed by every Country involved with the U.N.

True Freedom will begin to become a reality when total control of our food and water and medicinal plants are relinquished by the U.N., and therefore become “lawful” for us to possess and consume, as a people, once again.  This means that the U.N. must REPEAL those requirements and not take total control of our unalienable rights by the total regulation through the U.N. and Agenda 21 (Agenda 30).  Please note that I said “lawful” and NOT legal.  There is a difference, and that difference is the freedom to have unalienable rights that cannot be taken away by Government.  We must be very careful how we proceed from now on with this issue.  One wrong decision could enslave us forever.

While we are awaiting Peace and Prosperity, let us remember those who have been much less fortunate than ourselves, in any or all aspects of life, and give them help and kind words whenever possible.  Remember, if it hasn’t been you so far, it could be you in the future.

A Libertarian View of Cannabis and Drugs

by Keith PrestonPolice State/Civil Liberties, Therapeutic State, Uncategorized • Tags: war on drugs

By Sean Gabb

Libertarian Alliance

(Written early in the 21st century for a Roger Scruton publication)

The libertarian position on drugs is simply stated. People should have the right to do with themselves as they please. This necessarily includes the right to take any drugs they please – for recreation or for medication. No one else automatically has the right to interfere with such choices, unless they can be shown to involve force or fraud or some attack on the whole community that threatens its dissolution.

Taking drugs in consenting company is not an act of the first kind – it causes no one else the sort of harm against which they can legitimately demand protection. Nor is it an act of the second kind. We are told endlessly that drugs are a danger to social stability – that they lead to crime and degradation and so forth. There is no evidence for this claim.

The British past provides a compelling example. Until 1920, drug use was uncontrolled. Between 1827 and 1859, British opium consumption rose from 17,000lb to 61,000lb. Workmen mixed it in their beer. Gladstone took it in his coffee before speaking. Scott wrote The Bride of Lammermoor under its influence. Dickens and Wilkie Collins were both heavy users. Cannabis and heroin were openly on sale. There was no social collapse. There were few deaths from taking drugs. Most deaths involving opium were individual accidents, and even these were negligible – excluding suicides, 104 in 1868 and thereafter to 1901 an annual average of 95. Hardly anyone even recognised that a problem might exist.

The claim that drugs are bad for a society falls. The opposite is true. Criminalisation is bad. All the ills now blamed on drugs are more truly blamed on the illegality of drugs.

When drugs are illegal, only criminals will supply them. And when criminals are allowed to dominate an entire market, they will be able – indeed required – to form extended, permanent structures of criminality that could never otherwise exist. They will then make drugs both expensive and dirty.

Drugs will be expensive because bribes, transport inefficiencies, rewards of special risk, and so forth, all raise the costs of bringing drugs to market. Therefore much of the begging, prostitution and street crime that inconvenience Western cities.

Drugs will be dirty because illegal markets lack the usual safeguards of quality. When a can of beer is stamped “8 per cent alcohol by volume”, this does not mean anything between 0.5 and 30 per cent. Nor will caustic soda be used to make it fizzy. Brewers have too much to lose by poisoning or defrauding customers. Drug dealers can afford to be less particular.

Therefore frequent overdosing. Therefore poisonous additives. Therefore, the frequent transmission of aids even today by the sharing of dirty needles.

Moving from the costs of the crime resulting from illegality, we come to the costs of enforcement. These also are massive.

In the first place, the Police need to become a virtual Gestapo if they are to try enforcing laws that create no victim willing to complain and help in any investigation. They need powers to stop and search people and to search private homes that would never be necessary to stop things like burglary and murder. They need to get involved in entrapment schemes. They are exposed to offers of bribes frequently too large to be turned away. In one way or another, the War on Drugs leads to the corruption of every enforcement agency sent into battle.

And that War cannot be won. The British Customs and Excise have no land border to worry about. They can track every boat and aeroplane that enters British territory. They have far wider powers of investigation than the regular Police. Even so, they themselves estimate that they stop fewer than three per cent of the drugs smuggled into the United Kingdom every year.

In the second place, we have the war on money laundering. Since it is impossible to stop the import and sale of the drugs, attention has switched in recent years to stopping the profits of the trade from being enjoyed. The idea now is to confiscate these profits and use them for further investigations. However, before the money can be taken, it must be found. This requires surveillance and control over all financial transactions. Because any one of us might be a drug dealer trying to launder dirty money, we must all provide endless documentation when we open bank accounts. We are not allowed to pay in large amounts of cash without facing an inquisition from the bank clerks. Our banking details are open to official inspection virtually on demand.

Just as with drugs, the war on money laundering is also a war on freedom. In this case, it frees the authorities from the requirements of due process. The confiscations of alleged drug money are increasingly made without any pretence of a trial. In America, civil asset forfeiture, has become legalised theft of the plainest kind. In Britain, we are moving towards a similar breach of Common Law rights.

Moreover, the fact that our financial transactions can now be monitored gives the authorities an entirely new power over us. Its means of exercise are not yet in place. But we are moving fast into a world where all our purchases can be stored in a database. We can try to avoid this surveillance by using cash. But there are experiments in both Britain and America to see how anonymous cash can be replaced by cards that leave a record of every transaction.

Therefore, on the grounds both of individual freedom and of social utility, there is no argument whatever for continuing with the present War on Drugs. It is a War that benefits only criminals and a few drug enforcement agencies, and that harms every one of the rest of us, whether or not we take drugs.

So what if before our very eyes crimes of the century are committed?

Michael Aydinian

2 hrs ·

So what if before our very eyes crimes of the century are committed. I’ve passed the point of lamenting when people are going to wake up. Along with the inability to think, I’ve long since felt the dumbing-down process has also served to drastically reduce people’s empathy. Unless a problem directly affects our own interests, we simply don’t care. For many it’s simply a case of so long as I get my take-away pizza, put up my feet to watch mid-week soccer & X-Factor & have a 6-pack to wash it all down, I don’t give a shit. They’re all terrorists anyway!

Whether it’s by design or not, it sure is a sad indictment of mankind to say this is so true for so many people. Small wonder it’s hardly worth saying – how many more countries have to be destroyed?

We had 9/11 which was a Mossad operation; 19 Saudi hijackers were blamed along with Osama Bin Laden’s Al-Qaeda group which was founded & funded by the CIA. The CIA though is run by Zionists as is every major facet of US life & that most definitely includes US foreign policy. So far this manufactured Zionist war of terror has resulted in –

AFGHANISTAN – DESTROYED!

IRAQ – DESTROYED!

LIBYA – DESTROYED!

SYRIA – IN THE PROCESS OF BEING DESTROYED!

EGYPT – FINALLY DEMOCRACY PREVAILS ONLY FOR THE GOVERNMENT TO BE OVERTHROWN AFTER JUST 11 MONTHS. PRO-ISRAELI TYRANT SISI IS INSTALLED. THE ONE BORDER WHERE THE PALESTINIANS RECEIVED DESPERATELY NEEDED AID HAS BEEN CLOSED EVER SINCE!

MALI, CENTRAL AFRICA REPUBLIC, SUDAN, ERITREA & SOMALIA – ALL MUSLIM NATIONS THAT IN SOME WAY OR ANOTHER HAVE BEEN ATTACKED BY THE WEST UNDER THE GUISE OF TERRORISM WHEN IN FACT IT’S ALL ABOUT OUTRAGEOUS EXPLOITATION BY BIG BUSINESS!

Not to mention the horrific refugee problem that is also serving the Zionist cause by creating turmoil in several European nations. Moreover the media isn’t missing a trick when it comes to initiating the age old Zionist trick of divide & conquer. Refugees are being referred to as migrants even though it was never their desire to leave their homeland. They are terrible victims yet the media is doing all it can to incite hatred. Just imagine what would be happening if these refugees were Israelis.

However, when it comes to Syria, notably President Assad & Russia’s role, the lies being told by the media & our puppet politicians literally couldn’t be further from the truth. On my GMMuk FB page, the short description reads – If you really do have a yearning for the truth there’s a simple rule worth sticking to – WHATEVER THE MEDIA SAYS, IMAGINE THE EXACT OPPOSITE!

Now though the media is as biased as it can be & I know they lie all the time, this was nevertheless written in a rather tongue-in-cheek manner. Yet with Syria this statement couldn’t be more appropriate – whatever the media says regarding Syria, one SHOULD imagine the exact opposite if one really wishes to know the truth. Though this indicates how desperate they have become, the Zionists will not stop. THEY HAVE TO BE STOPPED!

My worry is I cannot imagine how they can be stopped & who is ultimately going to stop them.

All that’s saved Syria from becoming another Iraq & Libya is Russia. Fortunately for Assad, quite how long President Putin can stand the vilification of the Western media & the downright lies perhaps isn’t open to question because the Russians are anything but foolish. They know the moment Syria falls, attacking Iran will once again be firmly on the agenda. Such a confrontation could well lead to WW III. So the Russians know they have to make a stand with Syria but the harsh reality is the West, under it’s lunatic Zionist overlords who are hell bent on world domination, is slowly but surely being forced into a conflict with Russia & China. People better start waking up quick!

It could never be more obvious that only Israel wants what’s occurring in Syria. I decided the best way to get this message across is by including three pieces. First this excellent 3 minute clip – this lady, a peace activist, says everything that the world needs to know. Share it far & wide & thanks to Linda Wal for the heads up.

I thought I’d back this up with a fantastic edition of UK Column News where Vanessa Beeley SAYS EXACTLY HOW IT IS. This lady is a superstar in my eyes. If you want to know the truth about Syria & the fact we are not fighting the terrorists but helping them, listen to this. Vanessa absolutely nails it. The first 30 minutes is breath-taking stuff. Once again UK Column News makes the sparks fly. Do I love you guys!

Finally, a short while before her appearance on UK Column News Vanessa Beeley talked of her visit to Syria on Patrick Henningsen’s 21st Century Wire radio show. She was part of a peace delegation that went on to meet President Assad. She expressed how she was amazed at the decency of the Syrian leader & how conciliatory he was towards those who took up arms against him. When I first listened to it I thought this typifies the media – lies & nothing but lies! I will try & find the actual radio clip. In the meantime here’s a link where Vanessa talks of her visit to Syria –

It’s time for another Presidential Election in the U.S.A. (Lord, what are we supposed to do now?)

The following is a short synopsis of the current situation as I see it concerning the Presidential Elections.

After watching Donald J. Trump at the Republican National Convention (RNC) and Hillary Clinton at the Democratic National Convention (DNC) in July, I am still at a loss on who would be the best Candidate to put our Votes behind in the upcoming Presidential Elections.

As of yet, the U.S. Marijuana Party as a group has likewise not decided who we should promote for the White House as well.

Bernie Sanders did his best at the DNC to push the Democrats over to Hillary Clinton, in his speech.  I am not sure how that is going to work out for them.

Hillary Clinton has had virtually continuous access to the White House since her Husband, Bill Clinton was elected President in 1993.  This is 2016 and I do not see anything that can be construed as positive changes for the American People in a long, long time.  You could argue that when “Bill” was in the White House things were different.  However, after gaining a few years wisdom on the matter, there are things that I could disagree with during his reign, that at the time I thought he was one of the best President’s we ever had.  And, sadly enough, he probably was.

William Jefferson “Bill” Clinton, American politician who was the 42nd President of the United States from 1993 to 2001. Clinton was previously Governor of Arkansas from 1979 to 1981 and 1983 to 1992, and the Arkansas Attorney General from 1977 to 1979. A member of the Democratic Party, ideologically Clinton was a New Democrat, and many of his policies reflected a centristThird Way” political philosophy.

The Omnibus Crime Bill, which Clinton signed into law in September 1994,[87] made many changes to U.S. crime and law enforcement legislation including the expansion of the death penalty to include crimes not resulting in death, such as running a large-scale drug enterprise. During Clinton’s re-election campaign he said, “My 1994 crime bill expanded the death penalty for drug kingpins, murderers of federal law enforcement officers, and nearly 60 additional categories of violent felons.”[88] It also included a subsection of assault weapons ban for a ten-year period.

Here are a few more items from the “Bill Clinton Era that are notable;

Brady Handgun Violence Prevention Act (Brady Act) of 1993. When signed into law in November of that year, the Brady Act included a GCA amendment that created the National Instant Criminal Background Check System (NICS).

The North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA)

The Glass–Steagall separation of commercial and investment banking was in four sections of the 1933 Banking Act.

What I do not like about each of the Candidates:

7 of Hillary Clinton’s biggest accomplishments

Hilary Clinton – (Democrat)

After having been in the public spotlight since Bill Clinton’s Election in 1992 and even prior to that in Arkansas, she has had plenty of time and plenty of access to all the most valuable areas in the Executive Branch of the Government and beyond to make change happen.

Hillary’s own personal access to the White House includes the following:

She served as the 67th United States Secretary of State from 2009 to 2013, the junior United States Senator representing New York from 2001 to 2009, First Lady of the United States during the presidency of Bill Clinton from 1993 to 2001, and First Lady of Arkansas during his governorship from 1979 to 1981 and from 1983 to 1992.  Following the September 11 attacks, she voted to approve the war in Afghanistan. She also voted for the Iraq Resolution, which she later regretted.  She voted against the Bush tax cuts and in favor of the Patriot Act and TARP. Clinton responded to the Arab Spring, during which she advocated the U.S. military intervention in Libya.

LINK to more information.

She arguably has the most experience and the most activism experience as well, in her background.  But there has just been so much drama in her past decisions and she has been in the circle for 25 years already.  You can definitely argue that it is time for change.  Period.

Donald Trump – (Republican)

Corpocracy /ˌkɔrpɒkrəsi/ coined in 1995 by Nickolas Falvo, is a term used as an economic and political form of Oligarchy that is controlled by corporations, corporate interests, or the wealthy owners of corporations. It is different from both corporatism, which is the organisation of society into groups with common interests, and Corporatocracy, which is an economic and political system controlled by corporations or corporate interests while not being necessarily an Oligarchy.

Donald John Trump (born June 14, 1946) is an American businessman, television personality, author, and politician. He is chairman of The Trump Organization, which is the principal holding company for his real estate ventures and other business interests. He is also the presumptive nominee of the Republican Party for President of the United States in the 2016 election.

Here are some quotes from Donald Trump’s opinion –

Millions are helped by Planned Parenthood, but defund it.

Cut defense budget, & entire EPA & Dept. of Education.

1989 full-page newspaper ads: “Bring Back the Death Penalty”.

Green energy is just an expensive feel-good for tree-huggers.

Additionally, here are a couple of reported facts;

Disposal of national public lands;

The Republican platform committee met this week to draft the document that defines the party’s official principles and policies. Along with provisions on pornography and LGBT “conversion therapy” is an amendment calling for the indiscriminate and immediate disposal of national public lands.

“Congress shall immediately pass universal legislation providing a timely and orderly mechanism requiring the federal government to convey certain federally controlled public lands to the states,” reads the adopted language. “We call upon all national and state leaders and representatives to exert their utmost power and influence to urge the transfer of those lands identified.”

We as a People cannot let this happen on our watch!  It must be stopped!  National Public Lands are supposed to belong to the People of this Country.  If they are sold off to Private investors the land will be at their mercy.

“…leaving national parks, wilderness areas, wildlife refuges, and national forests apparently up for grabs and vulnerable to development, privatization, or transfer to state ownership.”

Cut spending by targeting the Department of Education and Environmental Protection Agency;

Asked on “Fox News Sunday” how he would cut spending, Trump named the Department of Education and the Environmental Protection Agency as potential targets.

Although I believe both “Departments” could use some restructuring I do not believe it is in anyone’s best interest, (except maybe the “Corporations”), to dispose of these Agencies.  They make an honest (?) attempt to regulate two of the most important “Departments” in the U.S.  Without them who would monitor the health of our environment or be responsible for our Children’s learning structure and environment?  While I would also say that private education is the best education and it would be nice if we could eradicate the Department of Education, it just does not seem viable to me to do so at this late date.  Our Children deserve to be educated to the best of the Student’s ability to learn.  Education should be free and equal to all Citizens as long as their participation in their education continues and passing grades are achieved.  This should include at least a basic four year College or University Curriculum.

I do not claim to be all-knowing, but it sure seems like Trump’s Campaign is just another Corporate Coup to me!

Gary Johnson  (Libertarian)

no farm subsidies;

In my opinion, the Farmer’s are the very people that we should be subsidizing!  These are the very people who grow and produce our food!  The only reason for not subsidizing Farmer’s would be to let Corporate farming take over the market.  This may reduce the cost of food and maybe raise the quantity, but what quality of food would we be subjected to?

Built private prisons to replace out-of-state prisoners;

There is only one reason to promote the use of private prisons and that is Corporate prisons.  Private prisons have been used for quite a few years and they have all been a failure.  Cost is not the only issue when it comes to housing our prisoners!  There are a lot of issues with private run prisons and there are a lot of links at KentuckyMarijuanaParty.Com to help you begin to sift through all those issues.  In short, I do not like them.

State primacy over water quantity & quality issues;

Water is our most important natural resource.  It is the lifeblood of the Human Race as a whole.  Water should be regulated first on a Federal level so as to ensure that all of the water which is utilized in our homes and for personal use, i.e., drinking and bathing is safe to use not only at the moment of consumption but so as not to cause health issues later.  I believe that Flint, Michigan is a very good example of what can happen when this resource is left untested – literally.

I am not a fan of the U.N. but it has “recognized the human right to water and sanitation and acknowledged that clean drinking water and sanitation are essential to the realization of all human rights.”  The U.S. should take this declaration seriously and strive fast and hard for the access to clean water to all Citizens in all areas of the U.S.  This should be a top priority!  Since clean, safe water is essential to all of us the Federal Government should set standards and do whatever is necessary to make sure all the States have equal access to whatever services they may require to make sure that this is accomplished.

NAFTA benefits New Mexico; jobs lost are those we don’t want;

Unlimited campaign contributions by corporations;

It is my opinion that only individuals should be able to contribute to any given campaign!  There should be no Corporate interests involved in any election!  We are talking about Government of the people, by the people and for the people, NOT the Corporations!  My belief is that a Corporation is not a ‘Being’ and should not be treated as such – It IS a business!  Businesses always have ulterior motives in any given Election – It is called Sales and Marketing strategy!

In a January 2001 interview with Playboy Magazine, Governor Johnson stated that he opposed campaign contribution limits. “The problem isn’t large contributions. The problem is that we don’t know who contributed. If you limit contributions from an individual to, say, $1000, then I think just the opposite occurs. Then you have politicians beholden to way too many people.” In 2010, Johnson said he favored unlimited contributions by corporations as well.

Gary Johnson on Social Security issues:  Raise the retirement age to 70 or 72;   A portion of Social Security ought to be privatized;  Reform all entitlements, including Social Security;  Open to personal accounts for Social Security;

Jill Stein –  (Green Party)

She wants to put much regulation into the ownership of guns which I see as a threat against an important part of our Constitutional Rights.

“A Democracy is when two wolves
and a sheep take a vote on what’s
for dinner. A Republic is when the
sheep is well armed and can beg to
differ with the vote.

” Benjamin Franklin”

According to Jill Stein:

  • Gun ownership should be appropriately regulated.
  • Gun ownership should be appropriately regulated.

She must have really strong feelings about this issue since it was inputted twice!

  • More local regulations; more background checks.

Personally, I do not think we need any regulations in gun ownership.  At this point everyone needs to own one and know how to use it.  Regulations are not going to save your Ass when an intruder decides to do you harm.  The intruder will not read the rules and regulations, I promise you that much!

  • Reduce culture of violence via mental health & legal drugs.

This is very troubling to me as an individual because forced health care, especially mental health care, is a very slippery slope which can and most likely will turn into a disaster for many patients.  Who gets to decide who needs mandated mental health care?  We already have too much of this type of scenario playing out in the Courts currently.  There is a BILL, H.R. 2646 which was passed out of Committee on June 15, 2016 deemed “Murphy’s Bill” which could very likely be the slippery slope that could lead into a very dire situation for any patient involved in the mental healthcare system.

In my opinion, the best way to get mental help patients the care that they need is to make sure that Physicians and services are available with easy access.  If a patient feels good about the Physician that they are seeing and has ready access to those services it is a good bet that they will be open to receiving those services.  We cannot mandate healthcare.  If a patient has no right to choose whether or not he receives care then he has no right to determine who or where he receives the care from and what pharmaceutical drugs he may be mandated or forced to take!  This Bill could possibly be a big winner for the pharmaceutical industry as well as the drug testing industry!

History tends to repeat itself, so with that in mind take a look at this historical information and do not ever think that it could not happen here, because it damn sure could!

  • Address community violence with more mental health services.

Again, we cannot mandate mental healthcare!

  • Gun at home more likely to cause injury than to defend home.

This may or may not hold true but it is still a Constitutional right to own firearms and we have a right to protect ourselves, our families and our homes – as well as to help protect anyone within our reach.  It is an individual choice whether or not to keep a firearm in your home.

With all this being said, it remains who would be the most trustworthy of the Candidates, let alone who would be the best leader of our Country.  Who can we trust the most to do what they say they will do?  Who would be most likely to lead us into a massive war?  Who would be most likely to take away even more of our individual rights through the guise of homeland security and gun control?  There are so many issues at the front of this upcoming Election.  I will continue to listen to the reports, and hopefully, come to a final decision soon,  but this will have to have been the hardest Election that I’ve ever had to make a decision on.

FRANKFORT— (Left to Right) Sen. Perry Clark, D-Louisville, discusses future legislation on medical marijuana as Sen. Morgan McGarvey, D-Louisville, listens during the July 8th meeting of the Interim Joint Committee on Licensing and Occupations.

FRANKFORT – The 2017 Regular Session of the Kentucky General Assembly is scheduled to begin on Jan. 3 and will last 30 legislative days.

As usual during an odd-numbered year, in which sessions are half as long as in even-numbered years, the session will have two parts. The first four days of the session – Jan. 3 to Jan. 6 – will focus on organizational work, such as electing legislative leaders, adopting rules of procedure and organizing committees. The introduction and consideration of legislation can also begin during this time.

The second part of the session begins on Feb. 7, with final adjournment scheduled for March 30.

Legislators will not meet in session on Feb. 20 in observance of Presidents’ Day. The House and Senate will also not convene on March 10 or 13.

The veto recess – the period of time when lawmakers commonly return to their home districts while the governor considers the possibility of issuing vetoes – begins on March 16. Lawmakers will return to the Capitol on March 29 and 30 for the final two days of the session.
